Tech Gadgets for Christmas
Ultra-portable Netbooks
For those mobile users such as bloggers, business travellers, and professionals, a powerful netbook is a must-have, allowing them to maximize their work and communicate with anyone at anytime. Meanwhile, with many netbooks out in the market today, the Samsung N110 and 120 stand out with the impressive features and multimedia capabilities highly ideal for consumers who are always on the go.
Netbooks, which are the ultra-portable versions of laptops, are probably the best tech gadgets for Christmas especially for students, bloggers, and professionals who need a mobile computer which comes in small size but still offers complete media capabilities and interactive features.
For those who are looking for a netbook which offers impressive features but comes at a relatively lower price compared to other models in the market, they can either choose Samsung N110 ($469) or N120 ($459).
These two netbooks have almost the same features, but have slight differences. For example, N110 comes only in white chassis while N120 also comes in black.
Another difference is that N110 has a battery system which can last up to nine hours when fully charged, three hours longer than N120 (despite this downside, this model at least have a subwoofer that supports better sound quality).
In terms of ergonomic design, the two mobile computers have a normal size, PC style keyboard (97 percent of its size) which promotes faster typing speeds compared to other netbooks which have limited keyboard space. Also, the Samsung netbook models have 10.1-inch LED display which is 33 percent brighter and consumes less power compared to LCD panels. (When scrutinized, the screen display of N120 is glossier than N110’s.)
For fast and convenient data sharing, the two models features several connectivity tools including three USB ports, 3-in-1 memory card reader which can support SD, SDHC, and MMC cards, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Just like most netbooks in the market today, these Samsung models have a built-in camera for video conferencing. According to the company, the 1.3 megapixel digital motion camera for these ultra-portable computers has been specifically designed to improve image quality and resolution, thus making communication with the loved ones more intimate than ever.
Meanwhile, these mobile multi-media tools use Intel Atom Processor which is a technology that is commonly used in most mini-notebooks in the market today. With this processor, the computers will have improved energy efficiency (extending the battery life), increased system responsiveness, and enhanced mobile performance—characteristics which are important for web-centric users.
All in all, the ergonomic design, chassis, media capabilities, features and memory (both have 160GB hard drive and 1G memory upgradable to 2G) of these two netbooks are almost the same that consumers may find it hard to tell the difference.
