Despite being the smallest SLR model of Nikon (only weighing approximately 16 oz), D40X features a wide array of image tools and technologies which is ideal for amateur and professional photographers.
To capture fast-moving scenes, the camera has impressive shutter response which can shoot 3 frames per second. This capability is complemented with fast startup of 0.18 second which means that one click of the power button makes the camera ready to take shots.
Another notable feature is the 2.5-inch LCD monitor that features large type fonts for easy menu viewing, 19X magnification capability, brighter color display, and 170 degree wide angle viewing which make this D-SLR easy and convenient to use.
To support different lighting conditions, D40X has a built-in Speedlight with i-TTL automatic flash control that works by adding illumination in low-light environment or controlling the exposure in outdoors.
This camera also boasts a wide array of automatic shooting modes (ideal for amateur photographers) such as portrait, sports, landscape, night portrait, close-up, and auto flash-off. Each shooting mode has its unique shutter speed, hue, white balance, and aperture to support different sceneries and lighting conditions.
