Canon S40 Camera
Point-and-shoot Camera
The Canon S40 is a point-and-shoot digital camera that offers 3x Optical Zoom, 4-megapixel resolution, image editing tools and settings, and movie support with sound. Despite some downsides of this camera, especially its 30-second movie support, this Canon model may be considered acceptable in relation with its cheap price.
The Canon S40 is a point-and-shoot digital camera that features 4-megapixel resolution, quite low-tech by today’s standard of at least 10-megapixel. However, this model might be considered acceptable choice when it comes to affordability in relation with its image features.
The portable camera has a 3x Optical Zoom and up to 11x Zoom which appear to be limited when it comes to capturing wide-angle shots and landscape images. Despite this downside, the camera can at least take
shots which have pixilation that is not as obvious as compared to other cheap models.
Meanwhile, the camcorder can support videos with sound and voice memo for up to a minute. However, users should not expect to capture high-resolution digital movies since S40 can only support 30-second video in high-resolution mode and 2-minute recording in lower resolution.
In terms of intuitive features, the S40 has a self-timer, image editing tools, settings to accommodate different lighting conditions, and other camera functions which are commonly found in most portable camcorders. It also uses lithium-ion battery which can last approximately 80 minutes of continuous use when fully charged.
In addition, the camera can fit in Canon’s waterproof case that allows users to shoot underwater up to 100 feet deep or in pouring rain.
This camera uses CompactFlash Type I or II memory cards in storing images. It is can also support up to 1GB Microdrive cards that allows users to expand the memory of S40.
